Regional development, regional education planning and youth mobility imperatives.

How Karin describes her work

“Regional development in peripheral areas, knowledge dynamics and regional innovation dynamics in peripheral areas, regional competence needs and education planning, experience economy, communication and knowledge sharing.

I have been shaped by my childhood as an immigrant – the heart of my research has always been minority studies. A minority perspective means paying attention to the position of social groups and localities that do not have the power to define society’s dominating structures and norms and yet have capacities to affect them. I am inquisitive by nature and eager to learn – often getting many more ideas than can be executed. As a person, colleague and collaborative partner I truly appreciate the interaction between solitary immersion and the energizing and educating flows of working collectively.”
