Part-time living and compulsory residence in rural areas. Regulating an increasing rural municipality phenomenon

Part-time use of year-round housing is on the rise and that it is a phenomenon that is strongly linked to rural municipalities in Denmark. To date, it has gone under the radar in terms of quantitative distribution, geographical distribution and the approach of rural municipalities to regulation. Part-time use is very unevenly distributed between rural municipalities and is particularly concentrated where there is already a large tourism activity.
