Projection of the educational level of the population at the municipal level

CRT has developed a population model which projects population trends at the municipal level, including the age, sex and education level of the population.

The model is a so-called stock-flow model, which means that it takes into account the existing population stock (stock) as well as the ongoing changes (flow) that occur over the years. These changes include births, deaths, immigration and emigration, relocations between municipalities, and the commencement and completion of new education programmes. The model ensures consistency with Statistics Denmark's population projection broken down by municipality, gender and age.

Based on the population projection, the labor force is also projected at the municipal level. The projections serve as an important input to the overall projections in CRT's SAM-K/LINE® regional economic model.
